COMEG are
Coemgen Savage – Vocals
Roger Pearson – Guitar
Spencer Jones – Bass
David Cartwright – Drums

COMEG began in 2002
Their first self produced album was released in 2003 and they have since recorded 6 more albums. All albums are freely available to download from the band’s website.

COMEG would describe their sound as infectiously addictive and anthemic. They have been compared to legends such as U2, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Zeppelin, The Cult, and Primal Scream .

COMEG has also written several tunes for independent movies. The band are also played on both local and international radio stations and Podcasts.

Between them, the band members have decades of Live experience and professionalism, having played in different bands all over the country in many different genres. Drummer Dave has played with professional orchestras and also depped for some well known acts, he is also in local covers band The Edge. Bassist Spencer also plays with popular Devon band “House Of Kane”. Guitarist Roger Pearson has toured with band “Diverted Traffic” and Vocalist Comeg previously fronted Bristol Rock band “Twisted” and was Bono in U2 tribute band “TRIBU2E”

REVIEWS THE BAND HAVE RECEIVED

Comeg have some serious talent. Weighty, bombastic anthems pour out of them like tap water. ~ Backbone – 247 Magazine

These guys create not just songs but sonic landscapes – www.bandassist.co.uk

To listen to “Touched With Fire”, you would never suspect that it had been produced by an independent musician who began recording eight years ago in his Devonshire basement. Clearly the School of Home Studio paid off as each beat of the drum, strum of the guitar and thud of the bass is so crisp, George Martin himself could have produced it -

http://www.live-music-scene.co.uk/cd-reviews-content.asp?id=244

“Comeg’s songs (One Day) are hook-laden, riff-loaded, emotionally charged works that tend to get right under your skin and haunt you for ages after.” ~ Toxic Pete – Toxicpete.co.uk

” …the melodic sweetness of McCartney, the clever, edgy lyrics of Lennon, and the upfront sexuality of the Stones. All wrapped in a production style that reminds me of Jeff Lynne / ELO. What’s not to love” ~ Godsofmusic.com

“Move over U2! This is suberb……great, great pro track…one that you want to play again…and again!” ~ MusiciansTogether.com

Formed in the 1980’s and rising to fame in the 1990’s after the release of their debut album, Radiohead are one of rocks success stories. Radiohead consists of five musicians: Thom Yorke, Jonny Greenwood, Ed O’Brien, Colin Greenwood and Phil Selway.

With six albums under their belt, it might be hard to pick a favourite so remind yourself of Radiohead’s work to date.

Radiohead – Pablo Honey
Released in 1993 and containing their first single ‘Creep’, Pablo Honey catapulted Radiohead into the spotlight. Recorded at Chipping Norton Studio and Courtyard Studio in England, this album ranked number 35 in the New Musical Express (NME) list of `The Top 50 LPs Of 1993’.

Radiohead – The Bends
Two years later, Radiohead released ‘The Bends’, a mixture of folk, rock, keyboards, acoustic and electric, a true smorgasbord of sounds. This album was recorded in studios at Rak, The Manor and Abbey Road, London and received praise from a variety of sources.

Rolling Stone Magazine included ‘The Bends’ in their list entitled ‘Essential Recordings of the 90’s’, Q magazine included it in their ‘50 Best Albums of 1995’, Melody Maker ranked the album number six in their ‘1995 Album of the Year’ collection whilst NME placed it at number four of their ‘Top 50 Albums of the Year’ for 1995. Overall, a great outcome for Radiohead!

From their second album, the songs ‘Fake Plastic Trees’ and ‘You Do It to Me’ were two of the most popular.

Radiohead – Ok Computer
Another two years down the line, Radiohead produced their next offering, ‘Ok Computer’, another highly acclaimed album which is often regarded as one of the best albums of the 1990’s and one of Radiohead’s finest collections.

‘Ok Computer’ won the 1998 Grammy for Best Alternative Music Performance and was nominated for the 1998 Grammy Award for ‘Album of the Year’. The album also appeared in Rolling Stone’s ‘Essential Recordings of the 90’s’ list, came in at number two on Spin’s list of the ‘Top 20 Albums Of The Year’, ranked number two in the Village Voice’s 1997 ‘Pazz & Jop Critics’ list as well as Maker’s list of ‘Albums Of The Year’ for 1997. Q Magazine also named the album as one of the best 50 of 1997 and NME voted it number two in their 1997 critic’s poll.

Radiohead’s most lengthy song, ‘Paranoid Android’ features on this album with ‘No Surprises’ another popular choice.

Radiohead – Kid A
At the turn of the millennium, Radiohead released ‘Kid A’, their fourth album. The album was recorded at various locations within the UK and Europe.

The recording and release of this album, and the next, marked a change in direction for Radiohead as they evolved into an experimental electronic style that was loved by some and hated by others. The overall verdict was positive as the album made it to number one in the US album charts.

Radiohead – Amnesiac

Released in 2001, Amnesiac was along similar lines to the last album, with most of the tracks even written during the recording of Kid A. Radiohead wanted t avoid releasing a double album, hence Amnesiac was released one year after Kid A.

With the focus still on progressive electronica and a mixture of jazz, Radiohead’s fifth album debuted at the top of the UK charts and was nominated for the Mercury Music Prize.

Radiohead – Hail to the Thief

Released in 2003, ‘Hail to the Thief’ focused on shorter, punchier songs even though the whole album is Radiohead’s longest, at almost 60 minutes playing time. Most of the album was recorded during a two week trip to Los Angeles and is viewed by many as a return to the bands former roots, more akin to early favourites such as ‘Ok Computer’.

This was the fifth consecutive Radiohead album to be nominated for a Grammy for ‘Best Alternative Album’ and Rolling Stone ‘Hail to the Thief’ as the 89th best album of the decade.

Radiohead – The King of Limbs

Last but not least, ‘The King of Limbs’ is Radiohead’s eighth studio album and was released in February 2011 in a variety of formats to suit the ever developing face of music. From MP3 to WAV, there are numerous formats in which the album can be bought.

As well as digital formats, this album can be bought is the slightly more unusual ‘newspaper’ format which consists of two clear 10’ vinyl records in a purpose-built record sleeve, a compact disc (CD) and several large sheets of newspaper artwork along with over 600 smaller artwork pieces.

With eight tracks, and just over thirty-seven minutes of music, ‘The King of Limbs’ is Radiohead’s shortest album to date.

Britain’s seeing its biggest protest yet against the deep cuts the country faces to tackle its massive debts. Right now, tens of thousands of students are protesting against a planned hike in tuition fees which could see them treble to 9-thousand pounds a year.

We MUST support the students in our country they are our future. Violence? Not good and shouldn’t happen again but I do understand why some people cross the line – we have had decades of governments ignoring us and thinking…we the people are their to serve them. Wrong. They are our employees and we are the bosses. It’s now time that they listen to us.

So I leaked an un mastered version of “Carnage” from our new album before it’s out and I made a protest video. Fuck it. I had to…I’ve had enough.

JibJab – thanks guys that is amazing! Tom

They had no idea what would come of this little endeavor…By December 2008 the band found new life when they were discovered by Kimmy from RETROSPECT RECORDS one the worlds largest independent rock/metal reissue labels. They were immediately offered a multi-release record deal. They agreed to re-release 3 of their classic albums complete with new unreleased material as well as a 4th new release in 2010. The ultimate bonus was the return of one of the original drummers Bill Haertel… as of 2010 Lynzee is BACK IN BLACK.

Hailing from Winnipeg, Manitoba, LYNZEE was formed by Canadian Artist Richard Lindsey in 1985. Transplanted to the streets of Hollywood in 1977, Richard began his obsession with Heavy Metal when he picked up his first KISS, Aerosmith, Black Sabbath albums & a Les Paul. After years of playing in local bands & backyard parties Richard formed LYNZEE. The band hit the Hollywood scene in the 1980′s performing at many of the legendary nightclubs & abroad.

In Your Face ARENA Rock n Roll, with Metal groove to spare. Guitars, Solos, Pounding Bass, Killer Drummer, Memorable hooks, put it all together and you have a Fantastic collection of Ultra Cool Heavy Melodic ARENA Metal, MONSTER musicians & Kick Ass Rock n Roll born in the 1980s!
It was the month when almost all we have worked towards as a band and fans collectively came to fruition with the announcement of our first BIG budget UK and Ireland release. WooHOO! (you heard it here first!)

Since the release in 2006 to critical acclaim of the ‘Behind It All’ album, its been a non stop rollercoaster ride, with the title track ‘Behind it All’ finding home as the theme tune to ‘Our Prisoner’ in the USA.

In 07 the Song ‘Slippin Away’ was downloaded more than 43,000 times and chosen by ASCAP for excellence in song writing at Music Expo 07 in L.A.
And the last two years have been our biggest and best to date, seeing us travel to Poland to play the Vena Music Festival in Łódź to thousands of screaming fans alongside the Sugababes and Fun Lov’in Criminals. Being invited to play FMI 08 in Brazil, licensing ‘We R1′ to Techno Sweat for use on their exercise CD’s, 18000 people joined us on our 2 International Myspace sites, we gathered over 900 groupies since joining Bebo, with fans placing our songs in over 1500 of their play lists! the release of the first video game ever to use our music ‘Trucker 2′ is imminent! Oh Yeah!

And to top it all off, we have just returned from a mini tour of Germany, which went down a storm, so much so, that there will now be a larger tour later in the year, followed by a tour of the USA, and this is down to you the fans! So Thank you!!

To be kept upto date with all the exciting happenings taking place in 09, please join the team on the 9Lies Mailing list and receive free members offers! Everyones welcome.

Members: Rich – Vocals/Guitar, Chris – Guitar/Backing Vocals, Ross – Bass, Vern – Drum

The Cartelles formed in the last few months of 2006, throughout 2007 the band quickly picked their feet up receiving radio play from over 35 local UK stations (including Red Dragon FM, XFM and BBC Radio Wales) and playing venues all over the UK.

Throughout the year the band continued their success by playing alongside bands such as The Automatic, Kate Nash, The Streets, Underground Heros and Viva Machine. They also won the XFM Unsigned competition and we’re chosen from 1000′s of artists by the Brylcreem team to appear among 9 others on the Brylcreem Effortless EP. They’re highest point of the year though was having the opportunity to open the main stage at the Metro Weekender festival in Cardiff.

After the departure of their lead guitarist THE CARTELLES made a comeback in 2009 with a new line-up, new songs and an even more positive attitude.

This year is already looking good for the band, they are currently putting the finishing touches to their new EP with new songs that are obviously going down well at their live shows as they were put through to the Live and Unsigned South West Final in Bristol and have been talking with local label See Monkey Do Monkey Recordings.
